NEOX Cooking gloves

These are the gloves I use for handling hot food.  They are made by NEOX.  I picked them up at a restaurant supply store here in town.  When I am taking food off the smoker or moving it around they work perfect.  They are excellent quality.  I should add they are also dishwasher safe, although I never put them in there.  I wash them by hand so the insides don't get wet.  They take a long time to dry out if they get wet. 

I would definitely recommend these to anyone handling hot food on a smoker. 

BBQ review

I am going to try something new with the blog and try out and review BBQ related products as well as do a BBQ post every now and then.

I find that more and more these days I go online to look for reviews or recommendations before I buy products. I will try to begin with products I have around in my collection that I commonly use.

Hopefully we can also get into doing demos of new products as they come on the market on the future.

BBQ Review - Lansky Knife Sharpener

I purhcased a Lansky yesterday, click here to see which one I purchased.  It was the standard kit.  I have never really sharpened my knives or had anyone else do it now that I think about it.  Overall I would say this is a great addition to my BBQ supplies and I would recommend it anyone.

the case is not very sturdy
small knives were hard to fit into the clamp causing the hone to hit the clamp instead of the blade.
I had to purchase extra hones for my serrated knives.  (Bass Pro didn't have a kit with serrated hones included).  there are a few online stores that have kits with them included.

it's been a long time

well it's been a while (over a year) since I put anything on the site.  I guess it is finally time.  Although we haven't done any competitions, we have been bbqing.  here are a few pics from the 2010 labor day weekend.
